ProSoft Technology® releases the Modbus Master/Slave and Modbus TCP/IP Enhanced Communications Modules for ControlLogix systems
Bakersfield, Calif., May 2013 - ProSoft Technology, Inc., a leading industrial communication company, is pleased to announce the release of the newly enhanced MVI56E-MCM/XT and the MVI56E-MNETC communication modules. These modules have been enhanced and can be used in applications that require large amounts of data transfers between Modbus networks and ControlLogix processors. Each module supports remote diagnostics over Ethernet networks.
The MVI56E-MCM/XT allows users to define up to 325 Modbus Master commands per port. The revision 3 firmware now supports 10,000 registers to be exchanged between the ControlLogix processor and the module. Configuration for the MVI56E-MCM/XT is done in RSLogix 5000 using controller tags with the supplied Add On instruction. This module will function as a Modbus master or slave.
The MVI56E-MNETC module can function as both Modbus TCP/IP Client (master) and Server (slave). The MNETC has been upgraded from 5,000 to 10,000 registers to be exchanged between the ControlLogix processor and the module. The MVI56E-MNETC will now support up to 20 Modbus TCP/IP server connections and has up to 30 Modbus TCP/IP client connections.
