Partner Interview: Pavel Vladyka, ControlTech

ProSoft Technology works with a number of distributors worldwide. Every so often on ProSoft Insights, we will interview a distributor representative to learn more about them, their customers, and their experience with ProSoft’s communication solutions.

For our latest partner interview, we talked with Pavel Vladyka, a product manager at ControlTech, which is based in the Czech Republic. ControlTech is a distributor of ProSoft Technology and Rockwell Automation products, and they also offer technical support to their customers.

 
About the interviewee:

Q: Please describe your typical workday at ControlTech.

A: My typical workday includes communication with ControlTech’s Sales team, communicating with our customers, preparing technical solutions, and helping with problems in customers’ applications. We also prepare product presentations, training, and other technical activities for our customers.

Q: How long have you been working in the company?

I have been working for ControlTech for more than 10 years in the product manager position.

Q: How do you value the partnership between ControlTech and ProSoft Technology?

The partnership between ControlTech and ProSoft Technology is on very high level all the time. Sales and technical support is really quick and reliable. In case of problems in the application, ProSoft always helps us excellently, even when it was in South America! I appreciate the cooperation with Regional Sales Manager Krzysztof Hajzyk.

 

About your customers:

Q: What would you say are your customers’ biggest priorities this year? Is there anything you’re hearing more about from them?

A: This year a lot of customers are interested in remote access to their application. The great solution is ProSoft’s ICX35 Industrial Cellular Gateway with ProSoft Connect.

Q: What are the top values your clients are looking for when it comes to selecting industrial automation products or services?

A: Top values are stability and easy implementation. Nobody has time to spend months implementing a device. 

 

Doing business with ProSoft Technology:

Q: How have ProSoft solutions improved your clients’ operations?

A: ProSoft offers devices and solutions which Rockwell Automation does not offer. 

Q: What ProSoft solutions have proven especially popular with your customers?

A: The most popular are in-chassis solutions for Modbus® and PROFIBUS.

Q: Do you have any stories to share about a collaboration with ProSoft? 

A: Last year we offered to our customer a CEMEX wireless solution. Because of a very rough environment, we prepared another solution with a radiating cable. A previous wireless solution from Siemens® was not working properly and reliably in the case of great dustiness during the stocking of cement. ProSoft’s wireless radio is working without any problems - which is good news. Unfortunately, we could not sell the radiating cable solution, which was more expensive.

We also thought it was funny at Automation University when ProSoft’s Krzysztof Hajzyk, in the Rockwell Automation booth, showed his deep knowledge of Rockwell products and solutions that confused customers who considered him as Rockwell specialist. It showed just how much ProSoft’s sales managers know about the industry!
